We Prepare, Train & Equip
Life Care Consultancy basically came into the ‘capacity building on emergency & disaster management’ field to fill the vacuum in private & public sectors due to nonexistence of professional and organizational Emergency & Disaster Preparedness at community and private sector levels which has let the man-made and natural disasters to rupture the social fabric of this region. After a wide spread damage of lives & properties during last decades, it becomes more important to train the community and its organizations that are on the receiving end, and those who suffer most and are the first casualties; and the “first responders” as well.
Life Care Consultancy designs the Training Programs to address the community dynamics, perceptions, or priorities, to provide basic skills, equipment and knowledge for enabling rural, semi-urban and urban communities to respond to local disasters and emergencies in an organized and effective manner with a simultaneous development of their relation with local administration/ emergency services to capitalize the outcome of this capacity building activity at community level.
Life Care Consultancy strengthens and develops capacities for disaster risk reduction management in all its dimensions at local, community and organizational levels. This includes developing preparedness measures and supporting post disaster recovery in a way that reduces future risks. The disaster risk management program of Life Care is meant to enhance the community capacity to live safely within the local vulnerable environments.
Life Care Consultancy exercises the latest methods with advance audio-visual aids during training activity to achieve the maximum outcome.
EMERGENCY & DISASTER
PREPAREDNESS - RESPONSE - PREVENTION
Preparing for a disaster can reduce the fear, anxiety and losses that disasters cause. A disaster can be a natural disaster, like an earthquake, flood, rain & wind storms and etc. It might also be man-made, like an accident (road, railway & air traffic), building collapse, explosions, chemical disasters, Fire and medical emergencies. Community at individual and collective level should know the risks and danger signs of different types of disasters and should also have a disaster plan.
Life Care Consultancy helps in preparing a continuous cycle of planning, organizing, training, equipping, exercising, evaluation and improvement activities to ensure effective coordination and the enhancement of capabilities to prevent, protect against, respond to, recover from, and mitigate the effects of natural disasters, acts of terrorism, and other manmade emergencies.
In the preparedness phase, we help in developing plans of action to manage and counter their risks and taking action to build the necessary capabilities needed to implement such
plans. Common preparedness measures include:
• communication plans with easily understandable terminology and methods
• proper training including mass human resources such as community emergency response teams
• development and exercise of emergency population warning methods combined with emergency shelters and evacuation plans
• stockpiling, inventory, and maintain disaster supplies and equipment
• Organizing the trained volunteers among civilian populations
Professional emergency workers are rapidly overwhelmed in mass emergencies; therefore, trained, organized and responsible volunteers are extremely valuable.
Life Care Consultancy also helps on another aspect of preparedness; ‘casualty prediction’, the study of how many deaths or injuries to expect for a given kind of event. This gives community and its organizations an idea of what resources need to be in place to respond to a particular kind of incident.
While preparedness is aimed at preventing a disaster from occurring, personal preparedness focuses on preparing equipment and procedures for use when a disaster occurs, i.e., planning. Preparedness measures can take many forms including the construction of shelters, installation of warning devices, creation of back-up life-line services (e.g., power, water, sewage), and rehearsing evacuation plans. Two simple measures can help prepare the individual for sitting out the event or evacuating, as necessary. For evacuation, a disaster supplies kit may be prepared and for sheltering purposes a stockpile of supplies may be created.
EMERGENCY & DISASTER RESPONSE
The response phase includes the mobilization of the trained community/ organizations and first responders in the disaster area. They may be supported by a number of secondary emergency services, such as specialist rescue teams.
A well rehearsed emergency plan developed as part of the preparedness phase by the Life Care Consultancy enables efficient coordination of rescue. Where required, search and rescue efforts commence at an early stage. Depending on injuries sustained by the victim, outside temperature, and victim access to air and water, the vast majority of those affected by a disaster may die within 72 hours after impact. The “Golden-Hour” management, that’s why is of vital importance in saving lives and decreasing the duration of misery.
There is a need for both discipline (structure, doctrine, process) and agility (creativity, improvisation, adaptability) in responding to a disaster; and Life Care Consultancy make it possible with its updated training syllabus and training mechanism.
The response phase of an emergency may commence with search and rescue but in all cases the focus will quickly turn to fulfilling the basic humanitarian needs of the affected population. The Life Care Consultancy train and equip community; the first responder, to initiate the first response to the emergency in an organized way till the professional agencies reach the site.
