More than 20,000 of these small, high quality heat exchangers—

made in Japan—have been adopted by major domestic residential fuel cell

manufacturers.
High temperature gases with temperatures exceeding approximately

200 to 300 degrees Celsius are cooled with low flow rate and little loss of

pressure.

Heat transfer rates are high. While maintaining turbulence effects,

heat transfer areas are 1.5 to approximately 2 times larger than conventional

circular tubes.

They are designed to withstand thermal stress.

We take custom orders according to piping configuration and o

ther specification requests.

Product Description

At our company, in order to meet needs for heat exchangers requiring high efficiency,

we have rolled out the small, highly efficient, and highly durable “SCF Tube Double

Pipe Heat Exchanger” that maintains high heat transfer capabilities of a surface area-

enhanced double pipe heat exchanger while lowering cost by several tenths.

It has received high praise domestically.

Heat transfer rates have been greatly enhanced by adopting the SCF tube.

Without compromising turbulence effects, heat transfer areas are 1.5 to approximately

2 times larger than conventional circular tubes.
- Shooting Clover Fin (SCF) Tube: A tube that allows efficient heat transfer and

whose cross section is shaped like multiple clover leaves.

By keeping the heat transfer area of the circular tube constant while

adopting this cross sectional shape and hence reducing cross sectional area of

flow path, we at Regal Joint have developed a new technology that realizes improved

rates of fluid flow and heat transfer.


The feature of our heat exchanger is that it is downsized without compromising heat

transfer area.
Using our SCF tubes, heat transfer area and cross sectional area of inner flow path

can be adjusted in four grades according to any specifications. Furthermore,

higher rates of inner fluid flow can be expected by reducing cross sectional area of

flow path.

By letting the fluid with higher temperature pass inside the SC tube and the fluid with

lower temperature outside it, the device is designed to withstand thermal stress.

Durability has been proven with its adoption by the residential fuel cell system

“ENE-FARM”.

The heat exchanger is being used as a small cooler for high temperature gas in

the fuel processor system (see 1) of a small residential fuel cell system.

Hydrogen gas with temperatures of 100 to 300 degrees Celsius is cooled so that

it can bond with oxygen.

We take custom orders for specific designs. We will respond with a proposal to

enhance heat exchanger capabilities and lower cost.
