An all metalic unit is for demonstrating the principle of a hydraulic lift. The main cylinder Is mounted vertically between 2 cm steel rods attached to a heavy cast Iron base. Piston supports a platform at Its rod end which forces against the flat surface of the top plate, rigidly attached to the top of the steel frame. The pump Is operated by a handle.
