Product Description

VVRS Beef Cattle - Bosse Feedlot Supplement

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

VVRS BOSSE FEEDLOT SUPPLEMENT is a liquid suspension formulated to be mixed with grain and roughage to form a nutritious balanced feed for feedlotting cattle.

VVRS BOSSE FEEDLOT SUPPLEMENT is a palatable, free flowing molasses based liquid supplement. It is suitable to be included in feed for growing/finishing cattle of most ages and supplies essential nutrients required for performance of the cattle in the feedlot.

VVRS BOSSE FEEDLOT SUPPLEMENT comprises of proteins, urea (a non-protein nitrogen source), minerals, VVRS ruminant vitamin & mineral premix.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

• THIS IS NOT A COMPLETE FEED. It has been designed to be included at the rate of 4-5% (40 to 50 kg/tonne) in a feedlot ration. If young calves/cattle (under 300kg’s) are being fed, additional sources of protein may be required.

• Additional lime may need to be included in the mix, in order to ensure an optimal calcium level. Contact your local VVRS representative for advice on suitable levels.

• It is recommended that a rumen buffer be used in the ration during the starter phase as this will aid in the prevention of acidosis. Sodium bentonite at 2% or sodium bicarbonate at 0.5-1.0% of the ration is adequate.

• Cattle must always have access to clean, fresh water.

• To allow for uniformity of mixing it is desirable for the suspension supplement to be the last ingredient included in the ration.

• For grain feeding of cattle the intake of high grain feeds should be gradually introduced to the cattle to allow the rumen to adapt and to avoid acidosis/grain poisoning. Small amounts should be fed at first, slowly increasing over a 3 week period. The following table gives an indication of a suitable introductory period for the cattle.

TECHNICAL RELEVANCE

• VVRS BOSSE FEEDLOT SUPPLEMENT is free flowing and less viscous than molasses.

• Held in suspension, settling is reduced so that there is a consistent supply of nutrients to the ration.

• The use of nitrogen will maximise organic matter fermentation and microbial protein synthesis while the sugar contained in VVRS BOSSE FEEDLOT SUPPLEMENT will influence the quality of the microbial protein passing into the small intestine for absorption.
