Custom Tooling Double Shot Two-Color Plastic Injection Mould: Over moulding or ‘insert moulding’ consists of placing a preformed part (or section of a part) into an injection mould and injecting a material around it. If the insert and the TPE are compatible a melt bond occurs between the two materials. The strength of this bond is affected by several factors, including interface temperature, cleanliness of the insert and the melt temperature of the TPE.
Engineering plastics, to which Uni-Moulding have documented good adhesion include; PP, PE, PA6, PA66, PC, ABS, PC/ABS, ASA and SAN. Non-compatible materials can also be overmoulded, either by using an adhesive to create the bond or designing a mechanical lock into the part.

When a specific design requires combining multiple plastic materials into one finished part, the cost-effective process known as overmolding may be the solution you need. We have rich experience for over Mold and overmolding. Overmolding is a good choice if you want to mold a rubber piece onto a piece of hard plastic. If you prefer to make the parts at our side, we will make them for you as per the samples; if you prefer to ship the molds to you, we will ship the molds to the indicated port.
