5 series aluminum sheet is AL-Mg alloy. Which is widely used especially in construction industry. This kind of alloy is with good welding and rust-proofing performace, suit for cold working in medium strength, because of element Mg is involved.
As the most widely used alloy of 5 series, 5052 is with higher strength, especially has anti-fatigue strength. it also has higher anti-corrosion resistance and plasticity.Machinability is not good and can not be heat treated.
