The pipe finishing lines owned by TPCO are 12 tubing and casing lines, 3 plain-end pipe lines, 1 tubing upsetting line and 1 coupling line. The annual finishing capacity of tubing and casing is 1.4 million tons and that of plain-end pipe is 340,000 tons. In addition, there are a slotted pipe production line (which is a joint venture with J.D.Rush company, Inc of U.S.A.), a drill pipe production line (which is a joint venture with Grant Prideco Drillstem-NAVASOTA of U.S.A ) and a non-round pipe production line. The principal equipment introduced from U.S.A., Belgium, Spain and Japan include 28 pipe body threading machines, 30 coupling threading machines. The supporting facilities are 14 hydraulic presses, 15 sets of length-measuring and weighing devices, pipe cutting machines, chamfering machines, coupling screw-up machine, coupling phosphate line, up-setter and others.
Non-Destructive Testing: TPCO, following the requirement of customers and product standards, carries out testing of transversal, longitudinal and lamination defects in the inner and outer surfaces of pipe body, pipe end and coupling by means of electro-magnetic, ultrasonic, magnetic particle, eddy current, visual inspection ways to ensure that all pipes supplied to the customers are of high quality.
