General 3 steps of spraying:

Spray gun: Conventional spray gun, a small size nozzle (0.8- 1.2mm) is recommended; tune up an average air pressure.

Substrate preparation: Some raw materials need a special treatment or adhesion primer. Chrome paint C may be applied over all substrate, as soon as this one has been correctly primed and covered with the glossy black basecoat.

Background: Once the item is ready to be painted, the most important step is the application of the chrome undercoat:

The black basecoat should be as glossy, as hardened, and as dried as possible. That will determine the quality of final mirror chrome aspect. For that, we recommend to use a high quality high solid clear coat over a black base, more than 2K black polyurethane. In all cases, 14 days of drying at room temperature will insure the best results. In case of not fully hardened basecoat, the chrome aspect will be dull. Never polish or sand!

Chrome: This is the easy part: Apply chrome paint with super fine veils (spray l% paint and 99% air) without waiting more than 5 second between each veils. The chrome paint has the ability to dry instantly! Keep spraying until the full covering is obtained. One may wipe off the dust or the chrome 'scales' with a dry and very soft cloth (such as electrostatic cloth).

After application, please do not touch, degrease or sand.

Aspect and resistance: The chrome paint C displays a real mirror chrome aspect, but its abrasion resistance is relatively low.

It is appropriate for items such sculpture, indoors objects, hanged pieces, out of reach from the public.

With a topcoat, we obtain a perfect resistance, but we lose a relative part of the mirror aspect: Without the right technical observation, the effects totally vanish due to the action of solvents. More generally speaking, the chrome paint C is perfectly resistant to UV, sunlight and temperatures: It does not yellow and bear easily 200°C.

Clear coat: Allow full curing: 2 to 14 days (a long drying time will ensure the best chrome preservation) and clear with all type of quality topcoat by following process: Always start with 4 super dry veils (wait l minute between each veils), normal clear coat.

Adhesion: The chrome paint C is always applied over non sanded background, otherwise it can’t lead to any type of warranty. Following our experience, the paint does not peel, except of sticker rip of it or shaking with a sharp object

Effects: Black Chrome may easily be obtained, simply by applying 2 0r 3 super thin veils of regular chrome paint C, in order to preserve a certain transparency.

Tinted Chromes: Tinted Chromes are basically chrome paint C coated with tinted transparent clear coats (also called Candy).We may obtain a real gold finishing by applying our golden candy 0ver chrome paint C.
