Applications

MC cable is suitable for use as follows: branch, feeder and service power distribution in commercial, industrial, multi-residential buildings, theaters and places of assembly, It is installed in cable tray and approved raceways. It is suitable for use in wet or dry locations. Maximun voltage rating for all applications is 600 volts.

Construction

Type MC cable is constructed with soft-drawn copper, type THHN

THWN conductors rated 90°C dry, 75°C wet, available in sizes 14 AWG through 750 kcmil, and a green insulated grounding conductor(sizes 1/0 AWG and larger furnished with bare grounding conductor)

The conductors are cabled together and a binder tape bearing the print legend is wrapped around the assembly.

Aluminum interlocked armor is applied over the asseembly. Refer to color chart for conductor sequence.

Operating temperature

Max permissible continuous operating temperature of conductor shall not exceed 90°C.

Advantages

The interlocked armoured cable designed for building can be installed in wall, in wireway or installed as open wiring.

The cable is installed easily with conventional tools.

The flexible cable can be installed under many conditions, even turned at an angle of near 90 at the corner formed by two walls, normal cables or wires must be protected by metal or non-metal pipe, MC cable has own protection-interlock armour, doesn't need a pipe for protection.
