DRIED SULTANA SPECIFICATION

PRODUCT : Chinese origin Dried Sultanas

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION :

Sultanas are reasonably well-matured sultana grapes that have been dried, stemmed, capstemmed, and cleaned. No additional sulphur SO2 is added. They shall be free from foreign materials, serious defects and damage, rancidity, mould, infestation and contamination, and will be free of any evidence of insect damage, rodent activity and decay. No chemical or any kind of additive is permitted without authority. The goods shall not be genetically modified.

PACKING AND MARKS :

Product is packed in 12.5kg (or 10kg )net weight carton with a polyethylene bag liner, in a strong suitable shipping carton and must provide full protection of the goods during transit without any cartons crushing. Cartons are to be glued or taped (no staples, metal clips etc. If glue is used it must be non-toxic and suitable for food products. The cartons will be marked with the name and address of the Buyer, the name of the Supplier, Product of China, Dried Sultanas, Grade, Net weight, Crop Year, production/lot number, packed date, ingredient list (if required) and the buyer's shipping marks if required.

STORAGE

The goods should be stored in original packaging in cool storage at 5 - 10 deg C to maximize shelf life and inhibit microbiological growth and insect infestations or oxidative rancidity. The store should be clean, dry, and protected against moisture, insects and rodents and stored away from any strong odour. Ambient storage can also be used for short term storage but is not recommended for extended periods of time. The goods should be checked regularly for any change in quality.

DEFINITIONS

Defects/Damage: Shall mean, but is not limited to, fruit that is discoloured, or has black marks, or any fruit with insect damage, mites, mould, decay, imbedded light filth, fermented fruit, sugared, shriveled, speckled, hail marks, scab marks, bruising and cut marks.
