Japanese Samue

The Japanese Samue is a type of traditional clothing. Unlike Kimono's, Jinbei, Yukata or Happi Coats, the Samue has been worn mostly by Zen Buddhist monks. The word 'Samu' is referred to the simple physical work (like gardening, cooking or cleaning) that monks perform with 'mindfulness' or 'awareness' of movements, thoughts and feelings. Awareness is important to reach enlightment.
