DESCRIPTION:

Levamisole injection10% is a broad spectrum anthematic used in the contral and treatment of gastro-intestinal worms and lungworm infections in cattle,calves,sheep,

goats and pig.

MECHANISM OF ACTION:

Levamisole injection10% is a rapid acting broad spectrum anathematic ,Levamisole,the active ingredient acts by first causing paralysis of the wormsand afterwards the worms are expelled in the feaces,Levamisole also helpsstimulate the immunity of the host animal by restoring cell-mediated immunefunctions and phagocytosis of the leucocytes.

It is rapidly absorbed after oral administration from GIT,metabolizedto a great extent with only a small percentage being excreted unchanged.

INDICATION:

Levamisole injection10% is indicated for the treatment of nematode infections in cattle,calves,sheep,goats and pigs,It is effective Trichuirs ,Chabertia,Strongyloides,

Cooreria,Nematodirus,Bumostomum,Oesophagostomum.protostrongylus

Metastrongylus,Dictyocaulus etc.

Levamisole is also used as a microfilricide in dogs to treat Dirofilaria immitic(heartworm) infection.

Levamisole is not ovicidal,which means it will not affect eggs already present,but it will affect the larvalstage of the worm.To ensure complete eradication of the paresite treat again after remaining eggs have hatched.Muzzle foam may be observed,However,this reaction will disappear within a few hours,if this condition pwesists,a veterinarian should be consulted .Follow the recommended dosage carefully.
