Product Description

The Honey of the Park, is a honey from the Mountain area, produced in the area of the municipalities of Bragança and Vinhais, where spots are predominantly of Quercus pyrenaica (Pyrenean oak) and Castanea sativa (Chestnut), beyond the existence of many Sludge Fraxinus angustifolia (Ash Trees), and next to water lines: atrocinera Salix, Alnus glutinosa and Salix salvifolia (Willows and Alders), and also many wild plants important for beekeeping.

In the areas of the forest vegetation is represented by Erica australis and Erica umbellata (heather), Chamaespartium tridentatum (coots), Lavandula stoechas ssp. sampaiana (chests), Thymus mastichina (pure salt), Genista florida L. ssp. polygaliphylla (Giestas) and Cistus ladanifer (cistus).

In the production process is not allowed to transhumance in the colonies outside the geographical area of origin.

The artificial feeding of colonies is allowed exceptionally where it is concerned the survival of productive colonies.

It is permitted to supply of honey syrups using their own farm, free from contaminants and from healthy colonies.

The extraction is carried out in community facilities belonging to the professional association.
