Floatation dressing is one of the most important dressing application;it's widely used now.According to statastics,more than 90% of the corlorful metal mineral are dealt with floatation dressing. Particles can be gathered together at liquid-gas interface or water-oil interface because of the hydrophobic properties on its own surface or obtained hydrophobic properties after flotation reagents function. At present ,the most widely used application is the flotation dressing method.All kinds of mineral will be dissociated into single particle after crushing and grinding,and the size will be conformed to the requirment offloatation process. Add various floatation agentia into milled ore pulp and mix it,enabling it to react with the mineral particle to enlarge floatability difference of different mineral particle.Put the mixed ore pulp into flotation tank,mix and fill in gas. Mineral particles in ore pulp contact and crush the bubbles,mineral particles of good floatability adhere to bubbles selectively and be carried up to form mineralized foam layer,then after machinery scraping or spilling from the pulp surface, dehydration,drying,they will finally become concentrate products.Mineral particles which can’t floatate up such as gangue will expel from the bottom of the floatation tank as failing product. Floatating out the useless mineral particle and keeping the useful in ore pulp is called anti-floatation separation,for exmple,floatate silica from iron ore,etc.

The froth flotation is suitable for the ore grain of 0.5 mm to 5 microns , and the grain limit depends on the minerals. Selected particle whose size is less than 5 microns needs to use special flotation method. For example, we use flocculant to flocculate the small useful mineral particles into bigger ones during the process of flocculation-floatation to float out the coarse gangue after fine grained useful mineral flocculant in larger particles, condensed from gangue fine mud after getting rid of the fine gangue mud. We uses the suitable mineral particle to act as carrier for carrier floatation,and let fine mineral particle adhere to the surface of carrier to float up with it and separate.There are other methods called oil-together and creaming flotation,we use oil to separate the fine mineral particles in this process.And liquated floatation is a method that we use high-temparature chemical reaction to transform metal mineral substances into metal first and then separate. When recycle metal ion in aqueous solution,we should sedimente it with chemical method or adsorb it through ion exchange resin firstly, then we floatate the resin particles and sediment.
