-----They are "water resistant" but they are not waterproof.If you submerge or soak the products, they might malfunction and the lighting mechanism may be permanently disabled. If you happen to soak the battery compartment, immediately remove the batteries ad allow the unit to dry completely. After drying, install new batteries, an usually the collar or leash will still function.

*How do I replace the battery ?

-----The batteries are easily replaceable. Just need a screw driver to open the battery box ; Our collars and leashes used one piece CR2032 battery.Which can be found at the major retail store in the battery isle.
