Glycine is a colourless, sweet-tasting crystalline solid. It is unique among the proteinogenic amino acids in that it is not chiral. A white crystal or crystallized powder with a particular sweetness, it dissolves in water, and pyridine, slightly in absolute alcohol, doesn't dissolve in diethyl ether, melting point: 232-236C

Usage:

Pharma-grade glycine

It is mainly used in amino acid injection solution as nutritional infusion for clinical treatment.

It is used as acid-making agent to treat neural hyperacidity and gastric ulcer hyperacidity.

It is used as a supplemental medicine to treat muscular malnutrtion.

Food-grade glycine

It is used as a flavoring, sweetener adn nutritional supplement.
