Our Heavy Duty Night Latch offers you another deadbolt auxiliary option to keep your entry way secured. Our heavy duty night latch has all the standard deadbolt features and it includes a bonus latch holdback function. Combining the automatic locking mechanism of a spring-loaded latch found in most entry door locks with the manually-controlled throw bolt feature of a deadbolt, our heavy duty night latch comes with a latch holdback button. This unique latch holdback button keeps the spring-operated latch in the extended or retracted position. This means you can just let go of the door to lock automatically behind you. But if you want to run outside to pick up the newspaper, check the mail, or throw away trash in the garbage room, just engage the latch holdback to make the latch function like a deadbolt. Turn the thumb-turn to the right and slide the holdback button up to keep the latch in the retracted position. This will keep the door close but the deadbolt unlocked. Release the button when you come back in and it will function like a retractable latch. The night latch is designed to keep you safe while preventing the embarrassment of locking yourself out.

Furthermore, our heavy duty night latch can also offer the extra security function found in a double cylinder deadbolt. To enable this double-locking feature, slide the latch holdback button up to keep the latch in an extended position while the latch is in a locked position. Since the latch is at a deadlocked position, the cylinder will also be locked. Even a valid key will not be able to open the night latch. While this type of deadlock feature provides those inside the house maximal security, it effectively prevents any type of access from the outside, including rescue worker in case of an emergency. Besides the standard Key-different (KD) model, our heavy duty deadbolt and night latch can be keyed-alike (KA) as well as Mater-keyed (MK)) to serve your needs.

All mounting screws and strike plate are included along with a detailed instruction sheet that shows you how to install this lock step-by-step.
