The Vocal Smoke Alarm is the only smoke alarm on the market with a specific and conveniently located FireDrill button that lets you practice fire drills with your children safely and easily.3) Vocal Smoke Alarm Horn and High Quality SpeakerThe device alternates the standard smoke alarm horn and your familiar voice message. The high quality speaker plays back your recorded message atapproximately 85dbs at 8 feet or more depending upon the recording level of your original message. The horn meets all UL and ULC standards for audiblehorn (US and Canada.)4) Indicator LightsThe Vocal Smoke Alarm is equipped with a bright light ring that illuminates during drills and in case of an alarm.5) Low Battery WarningThe device checks its battery level automatically on a regular basis. If the battery level falls below a critical level, the device will emit a chirping sound once every minute to indicate a low battery status. Batteries should be replaced as soon as the chirping begins.6) Self-Testing FunctionThe device checks to make sure the batteries and smoke sensor are fully functional by performing a self-test. The self-test is indicated by a brief red flash ofthe light ring around the drill button. The self-test occurs once every forty seconds.7) Weekly Test FunctionThe device should be checked weekly for proper operation. By pressing the fire drill button briefly once, the device will run a self test. Upon successful completion of this self testing procedure, the device will playback your recorded message, and then beep three times.
