Water transfer printing sticker technology is a craft which make the specialized water transfer printing ink print the image you need on transfer printing base paper(or called small membrane backing paper,suitable for low-temperature Decal and high-temperature Decal) by means of silk screen printing, then completely paste the image which peeling off from the transfer paper after soaking the image-text in the water for 30 seconds (after 30 seconds’ immersing in the water, the image-text and the backing paper will be separated naturally) to the surface of substrate and finally processed through baking.

Water transfer printing is very widely used.The Indirect printing and perfect printing effect solve many products surface decoration problems.Especially for surface irregularities products decoration,other normal screen printing technology but water transfer printing can do.Besides,now we have the Low temperature hot stamping water transfer printing decal can instead of High temperature decal,the effect which made can be like real gold and silver.High temperature decal is use real gold and silver which cost very high.Low temperature decal can cost down 80%.

Water transfer printing Decal process flow:

Material:1.Small membrane backing paper;

2.Specialized hot stamping base ink;

3.Hot stamping foil;

4.Isolation Surface ink;

5.Thinner;

6.Can tear film;

Equipment:

1.screen printing machine(Semiautomatic or automatic);

2.Hot stamping machine(Roller type hot stamping machine could be great).

Processes:

1. At first,print the hot stamping base ink on the backing paper by screen printing machine in 200-250 mesh nets.After printing,the hot stamping ink need nature drying for 4-15 hours.(The indoor environments is important which decide the ink whether can completely dry.Usually,keep the room temperature be around 25 Celsius degrees,and the humidity be around 50.)

2. After the base ink completely dry operate the stamping process.Put the paper which printed the base ink on the stamping machine.machine would make the metal adhesive layer transfer to the surface of the base ink.(Hot stamping temperature usually around 80-150 Celsius degrees,pressure can be adjusted).If the products surface is glossy and no cracks,no crinkles,no bubbles then the hot stamping process is successed. Otherwise,we should find out the reason and adjust the parameter.

3. 5-12 hours after hot stamping,print the isolation surface ink(printing with 250-300 mesh nets for protect the hot stamping layer and increase the fastness)If this process make the image crinkle and the gold layer darken then the process is failed,we should find out the reason.

4. 6-12 hours After printing the isolation surface ink,print the can tear film(printing with 60 mesh nets).After this process,the whole set of printing craft has all done.The next step can be water transfer printing decal.

5. Water transfer printing decal:

At first,soaking the printed decal in the water for 30 seconds, then the image-text and the backing paper will be separated naturally.Get the image out,stick on the substrate lightly,scrape and press the image-text by scraper,make the water out completely,keep the image-text at the assigned position,air dry it.Afterwards,tear off the can tear film on the top.At last,baking in the oven.(If the substrate is glass or ceramic ,the temperature of the baking should be 120-120 celsius degrees and the time should be around 30 minutes.)After baking, If the products surface is glossy and no cracks,no crinkles,no bubbles then the product is perfect accomplished.You can test the finally products through water-tolerant, resistance ethanol and fastness.(There are many variable factors during processes of hot stamping decal production.We should sum up the experience in practice.The materials used in the producing are also very important)
